E-Bike: More and More Rental Stations in East Saxony

Length:27 kilometers.Altitude:345. Travel time: about 90 minutes. This was indicated by the tachometer at the end of my last tour. With my mountain bike I drove from Dippoldiswalde over Hennersdorf, Ammelsdorf and Bärenfels to the health resort Altenberg. The course is quite strenuous, but for half-experienced mountain bikers no problem.

While I was struggling with pure muscle power on the Erzgebirgskamm, I was overtaken one or other time – even from two-wheeled bicycles. Question marks about my fitness were in my head wide. Then the redeeming thought:”That can only be done with an e-bike”. The next overtaking maneuver once exactly looked – actually.

Cycling in the Osterzgebirge or in the Saxon Switzerland means to cycle through charming valleys or picturesque rugged erosion landscapes, past romantic rivers, but also mountains with their own muscle power. If you want to cycle along the Elbradweg and want to conquer the plateaus on the right and left of the Elbe, a little “backwind” would sometimes be desirable.

The “easy” way to ride a bike is worthwhile. You might say, “I’m not so old or unsporting.”But that is the point.Electric bicycles are suitable for all ages.Whether young or old – differences in altitude can be mastered with such a vehicle by everyone. And of course an e-bike does not go by itself.

By the way, the words E-Bike and Pedelec are often used synonymously when it comes to electric bicycles. The difference between the two companions is explained here .

E-Bike rental and recharging stations for tourism

In the district Saxon Switzerland-Osterzgebirge, there is now a network of more than 20 rental stations for e-bikes.Practical – on the website of the Saxon Switzerland Tourism Association you will also find a selection of tour tips .To take with you on the road, the Erzgebirge eV Tourist Office offers a cycling map with suitable tour suggestions. There is even a tour of the ENSO energy adventure trail .

Please note:In order to enable you to explore the charming region from the south of Dresden to the Erzgebirgskamm with a two-wheeler, we raffle 5 racquet sets.If you are interested, simply leave it by 13.09.a comment.

Also in the Saxon Elbland the bicycles with electric pedal support arrived.Since 2012 e-mobility has been building a rental and charging network for pedelecs. You can book the electrical wireles on the company website via an online booking tool and browse through the tour suggestions right away.

In Dresden, a number of bike dealers, such as Little John Bikes or Bike Point , offer the e-bikes or pedelecs daily or weekly. It is enough to enter the three words “E-Bike hire Dresden” on Google to find what you are looking for.

In Saxony’s southernmost holiday regions – the Erzgebirge – driving with the “backwind” helps to manage steeper mountain passes and extended climbs. You can find tourist stations and tour suggestions on the website of the tourist office Erzgebirge .And also in the Vogtland there is now a network of currently 28″movelo” e-bike rental and recharge stations .

With these varied possibilities to try the cycling with pedal support once, the suitable tour should be for everyone.ENSO also supports this trend.ENSO has handed over e-bikes to the municipalities of Grossschönau and Rietschen, as well as to the towns of Neustadt in Saxony, Königsbrück and Dippoldiswalde.A ladies’ and a men’s bike are available for hire.

For my part, I am not going to explore the Saxon mountain landscape with the mountain bike, but the Swiss Alps. With this contribution, I would like to say goodbye to the ENSO blog and wish you much fun on your tours through the beautiful Saxon homeland – whether with mountain or e-bike.
