Fahlin drove fast on EM-pace

In his last European Championships U23 class was Emilia Fahlin second fastest of the 31 starters during the nearly 26-kilometer time trial that ran through the Centre of Ankara. The winner was Russian Alexandra Burchenkova and the Bronze went to the Katazina Sosna from Lithuania.

Today’s second place is yet another great merit in Emilia’s suite of successes. Earlier this season, as well as in the previous year, she became a Swedish champion on pace and Emilia can also boast of a title Swedish champion on the line from 2008.

“Right now I feel a little disappointed,” said Emilia after the competition. I had really hoped to upgrade my silver from last year to a gold. The track felt quite ok and I had a good flow. When we were exploring the course before I did not at all that it would suit me, but it went better than expected and felt really good. But I knew that the Russian was in great shape. A European championship medal is always a European championship medal … and now I have two.
