Outdoor Preview – Komperdell Approach Carbon Vario

The side of the OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen is slowly filling up with the new products for the year 2011. Some of the products will probably be in the shop until the beginning of the season 2012, but can be tried out on the OutDoor before and under the magnifying glass. What is interesting to me is the development of the trekking sticks, as these are always easier and can not lose their robustness. After last year Black Diamond with its Ultra Distance model has set a good benchmark, now the competitors are following and show that they also do not sleep.

Komperdell Approach Series

The Komperdell Approach series works according to the same principle (Z-Pole) as used by Black Diamond.Since these models have the problem that they can no longer be adjusted in height, the company Komperdell has installed an extension in the upper segment (Vario models), which makes you more flexible again. This more comfort is, of course, due to the weight of the trekking sticks and is therefore not necessarily for everyone.Whether one likes this principle, everyone has to decide for themselves. I decide in the doubt for the lighter version, because in practice I never adjust the height of my sticks. So I can also save weight here by omitting (for me) meaningless features.

Komperdell Approach Carbon Vario

Since the Vario version of the Approach series can still be interesting for one or the other, I will introduce you here already times the most important data. The Komperdell Approach Carbon Vario comes with the incredibly no pack size of 34cm and is thereby still length-adjustable. This makes it really fit in every backpack and is also suitable for small daypacks.

If you are looking for a height adjustment, the Komperdell Approach Carbon Vario is certainly well advised. To everyone else I would spontaneously recommend the Black Diamond Ultra Distance. But I’m curious what pearls are still hiding at the OutDoor on Beautyphoon.
