Sleep in the Caravan Route

When we go to a distant destination caravan because we house in tow, we have the option to make a stop along the way and sleep. Many people consider risky sleepovers campsites. These holidays encourage me to try it. And this is my experience.

Monday, August 11. family meal at my parents’ house. The caravan at the door ready to go. Destination: the Catalan coast. Time, 19.30. Our intention is that the two girls to sleep and to make five or six hours a jerk, pararando up to Castellon and Tarragona (we left Alicante) in some area of motorway service.

When I was a kid and I went with my parents to Andorra with the Caravan, always we stopped to sleep on the way.Nothing ever happened. Those were different times. Proof of this is that recently I found out that my father did not even have the documentation of the caravan. We were traveling with the purchase agreement …

At approximately 2330 (just four hours from the start), I was tired. We were at the height of Peñiscola in Castellon.Stop at a service area of the highway, right at the door of the bar, with the only company of two or three cars and a handful of trucks. Lower the rear legs of the caravan, I put the Jockey wheel and we went inside.

The first thing you could see is that he had no light. A small lantern lit led us. The heat was unbearable and I could not put the fan. My caravan has no inner light even on the road. For emergencies 220v buy an adapter for the cigarette lighter that gives me a whopping 150W (light and water pump) and I’ve only used a few times.

The girls were fried and did not even know when the caravan passed, but I could not stop sweating. I did not feel comfortable opening the windows because we were in the middle of the road, but finally had no choice but to open one of the windows in our bed. Still, the heat was terrible. On the other hand, as we were at the bar door every few minutes car noises were heard. They are opening doors. People talking. Noises which merged with the highway as we were a few meters. I could hardly sleep a wink. Every noise outside bothered me. Even hear a hiss as compressed air, and came to my pictures of people docked in your caravan after drogarles with gas. I opened the door and saw it was the cab of a truck.

At six o’clock could not anymore and I went out to the car. I set the air conditioner to stop for a few minutes and watched as people kept coming to the bar. Truckers were headed to the showers after a night’s sleep. People came and went with coffees to go. Dawn on the road.

At eight o’clock began the movement in the caravan. Everyone had awakened. It was time to continue the journey. Eat breakfast coffee and an energy drink and left map.

The next time you stop to sleep en route will be in a less busy place, if possible cooler, and try to have inner power to have water and electricity.

And you? I have slept on the road?
